Tennis

The Tennis Program at Trenton Country Club carries on a long tradition that dates back over 80 years. Tennis was first played at the Club in 1931, but our program offers all of today's amenities. Both Tennis and Golf members are active participants and the program embodies TCC's "Family Club" theme. We offer programs for all ages and ability levels and strive to maximize members' enjoyment of the game while also providing social opportunities. Tennis players at Trenton Country Club enjoy:

Great Courts - Shaded by the majestic oaks that give "Oaklands" - our clubhouse - its name, TCC has five (5) superbly maintained HAR-TRU clay courts in a beautiful setting. The courts are equipped with a state-of-the-art computer-controlled zoned sprinkler system and our staff waters, rolls, and brushes the courts throughout the day to maintain a tournament quality surface. The courts are all lined with windscreens and trees, and each is equipped with a cooler full of ice water to keep players cool and hydrated. Complimentary fresh towels are also available. Three of our courts are lighted for night play.

Shaded Viewing Porch and Patio - our quaint cottage-style Tennis Shop overlooking the courts has a shaded viewing porch for keeping an eye on family, friends and the competition. The adjacent arbor-covered patio under the oaks is the coolest spot at the Club and a great spot for stretching before a big match, relaxing afterwards, and gathering with fellow members and guests.

The patio is surrounded by beautiful seasonal plantings maintained by TCC's own horticulturalist and outfitted with lovely tables with umbrellas for enjoying a cool drink, snack or lunch available from the Club's nearby outdoor refreshment area. The porch and patio doubles as a grandstand during tournament matches. So we don't miss a point, a large-screen, flat panel TV is available on the porch for viewing professional Grand Slam events.

Becoming a Better Player - besides open court play opportunities between the Club's large group of members and private lessons, TCC offers a wide range of drills, tennis fitness boot camps, and Stroke of the Week clinics. Competitive players can test their skills with tournament and interclub events for men and women, a challenge ladder, and of course, the annual TCC Club Championships.

Tennis Socials - it's not all competition at the Club. The season also includes many tennis and social events - including Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day events, Friday Night Happy Hours, ice cream socials, and Member-Guest events - where members and guests enjoy cocktails and delicious offerings from the TCC culinary staff while playing informal doubles.

Junior Summer Camp - members also have exclusive access to our popular Junior Summer Camp. The tennis staff creates a fun environment for juniors to learn the game and keep in shape.

Platform Tennis - even after the end of the outdoor tennis season, outdoor racquet sports continue at TCC! In colder weather, Platform (Paddle) Tennis has proven very popular with our members and our two (2) Platform Tennis courts provide a perfect venue. Players keep warm between matches around available gas heaters. Our Platform Tennis season includes spirited doubles, clinics, and warming courtside beverages!

At TCC, our tennis members and their families are afforded numerous opportunities to play competitive and social tennis and improve their games. Couple that with the other activities that are available at TCC and you have a tennis program that cannot be duplicated anywhere in the area!
